LexiCapture Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 October 2026

These terms apply to LexiCapture, the free screen recorder and video editor made by Lexiata.lk (“we”). By installing or using LexiCapture you agree to them.

1. Free to use

You may install and use LexiCapture free of charge, for personal and commercial work, on any number of your computers. The videos you make with LexiCapture belong to you.

While you are not signed in, LexiCapture adds a small “Made with LexiCapture” mark to the videos you record and export. Signing in with a free Lexiata Studio account removes it.

Paid plans. If you buy a paid plan that includes LexiCapture (for example LexiCapture Pro or Lexiata Studio All-access), our Lexiata Studio Terms of Service also apply. They cover accounts, payments, auto-renew and refunds.

2. What you may not do

  • Sell LexiCapture, or publish it (or a changed copy of it) under another name, or claim that you made it.
  • Bundle LexiCapture with malware or with software that is installed without the user’s clear permission.
  • Share LexiCapture through a download that is not the official one without keeping it unchanged. The official downloads are on lexiatastudio.com/lexicapture and the Microsoft Store.

Open-source parts of LexiCapture (for example FFmpeg) are covered by their own licences, listed in Help → About LexiCapture. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.

3. Your recordings are your responsibility

Only record what you are allowed to record. You are responsible for following copyright and privacy laws, and for getting permission from people who appear or are heard in your recordings. Do not use LexiCapture to record other people’s screens, conversations or keystrokes without their knowledge.

4. Cloud services

Cloud captions use services from other companies (Google, OpenAI, ElevenLabs) with your own API key. Their terms and prices apply, and any charges are between you and that company.

5. No warranty

LexiCapture is provided “as is”, without any warranty. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will be free of errors, that every recording will be saved, or that it works on every computer. Keep copies of important recordings.

6. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Lexiata.lk is not liable for any loss of data, recordings, income or other damage that comes from using or not being able to use LexiCapture.

7. Updates and changes

We may update LexiCapture and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using LexiCapture after a change, the new terms apply.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
