1About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Lexiata.lk (“we”, “us”), the business that runs Lexiata Studio and lexiatastudio.com. They apply when you use our website, create an account, use a free or paid plan, or buy a licence.

Each product can also have its own terms — for example the LexiCapture Terms of Use. Those product terms explain how you may use that product. If they say something different from these terms about using the product, the product terms apply. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to these terms.

2Your account

• You must be 18 or over, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
• Give us correct details and keep your e-mail address up to date — we send licence and payment information there.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
• An account is for one person. A business can buy plans for its team, but each person should use their own account.

3Free products and free plans

Many of our products have free core features. You can use them without paying, under the product’s own terms. We may add, change or move features between free and paid plans in new versions. A change never takes away something you have already paid for during your current paid period.

From time to time we may run launch offers — for example paid features that are free for a limited time, or discounts for founding users. Each offer applies only as described when it is offered, and ends on the date we give.

4Paid plans and licences

• When you buy a plan, you get a licence to use the product for the plan’s period. You do not buy the product itself.
• Each plan shows how many computers or websites you may use it on. You can remove old computers or websites on your account page and add new ones.
• Your licence key is personal. Do not share, sell or publish it.
• Updates and support are included while your plan is active.
• When a paid plan ends, its paid features stop. If the product has free features, you can keep using them. What happens to each product when a plan ends is shown on its page.
• An All-access plan covers every product listed as included, and new products that we add while your plan is active.

5Prices and payment

• Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) or, for some customers outside Sri Lanka, in US dollars (USD).
• You can pay with the methods shown at checkout — for example card or mobile payment through PayHere or Dialog Genie, or bank transfer.
• Card and mobile payments are handled by the payment provider. Their own terms also apply.
• If you pay by bank transfer, upload your slip or reference when asked. Your plan starts after we confirm that the money has arrived.
• We may change our prices. A new price never changes a period you have already paid for. If you have auto-renew on, we will e-mail you at least 14 days before you are charged a new price, so you can turn auto-renew off.

6Auto-renew and plan endings

• Some plans can renew automatically at the end of each period (“auto-renew”). Others are paid once, for one period.
• We e-mail you before a plan ends or renews.
• You can turn off auto-renew at any time on your account page. For some payment methods we confirm it by e-mail. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
• If a renewal payment does not go through, we tell you by e-mail. If it is not paid, the plan ends.

7Refunds

• 7-day money-back: if you are not happy with your first purchase of a plan, e-mail us within 7 days of the payment and we will refund it in full. Your licence for that plan then ends.
• Renewals are not refundable — but you can turn off auto-renew at any time, so you are not charged for the next period.
• If you were charged twice or charged by mistake, we refund the extra payment whenever you tell us.
• Refunds go back to the payment method you used. Bank-transfer payments are refunded to a bank account you give us. How long the money takes to arrive depends on your bank or payment provider.
• To ask for a refund, e-mail [email protected] with your order number.

Nothing in this section takes away any rights you have under Sri Lankan consumer law.

8What you may not do

• Bypass, crack or disable licence checks, or help others to do so.
• Share, sell, rent or publish licence keys or accounts, or use one licence on more computers or websites than your plan allows.
• Copy, sell or publish our products (or changed copies of them) as your own, except where an open-source licence allows it.
• Create fake accounts or misuse free plans, trials or offers.
• Attack, overload or try to break into our website or systems.
• Use our products or website for anything illegal, or to harm other people.

9Who owns what

Our products, the website, the Lexiata Studio name and logos belong to Lexiata.lk. Some parts of our products are open-source software, which is covered by its own licence — nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.

The videos, websites, files and other work you create with our products belong to you. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you add to them.

10Other companies’ services

Some features use services from other companies — for example payment providers, or cloud AI services that you connect with your own API key. Their terms and prices apply, and any charges they make are between you and them. We are not responsible for services that we do not run.

11Changes to our products and website

We improve our products all the time, so features can change. We may also stop a product. If we stop a paid product while your plan for it is active, we will refund the part of your payment for the time that is left, or offer you a fair replacement.

12No guarantee

We work hard to make our products reliable, but they are provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that they will be free of errors, that they will always be available, or that they will suit every purpose. Keep copies of important work.

13Limit of our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses — for example lost data, lost income or lost business — that come from using or not being able to use our products or website. If we are responsible for a loss, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law.

14Closing or suspending an account

• You can close your account at any time by e-mailing us.
• We may suspend or close an account, or cancel a licence, if these terms are seriously broken — for example licence sharing, cracking or fraud. In that case no refund is due.
• If we close an account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of any active paid plan.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you by e-mail or with a notice on the website before it applies. If you keep using Lexiata Studio after a change applies, the new terms apply to you.

16Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. If you have a problem, please contact us first — most issues can be solved quickly. If we cannot solve it together, the courts of Sri Lanka will decide.
